Wish to understand more about the front line work of Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders (MSF)? MSF will be having exhibition at The Annexe Gallery Kuala Lumpur from 26-30 June 2013.
This is their first event in
Malaysia with the aim of to raise awareness of humanitarian crises and to gain
the support of Malaysian on issue that matter in the wider world. This is a
good chance for Malaysians to understand more about the reality of MSF front
line work. Malaysians can be able to understand more about the organization
through a combination of a photo exhibition and film screening.
MSF regional humanitarian
representative in Asia, Dr Maria Guevara said, a lot of Malaysians are actually
part of MSF, with this they would like to engage much more actively with the
society here and have a intimate understanding of the organization. MSF does
not have any office here, and they are all the way from Hong Kong office to
here for this exhibition. She added, she would like to invite more Malaysian to
join them for their journey through this exhibition, at least create awareness
and better understanding of MSF among Malaysians.
80% of fund raised will be used for Project, limited budget actually restrict them from choosing a better venue for this exhibition. Miranda Choy, MSF Senior Communication Officer said,
this is a 5 days event, and this is also the first time MSF held event in
Malaysia so they actually predicted that will not have many people attending.
However, she hopes that whoever has seen the news can spread the news around, with
this easy and powerful act can actually help MSF. She urged public do not underestimate the
power of social media and word of mouth, undeniable it is so powerful in
nowadays society. MSF had sent out invitation to Universities, Schools, Housing
area to raise public awareness about this event.
