Kuala Lumpur (Feb, 24): Around hundreds of men and women risked sweeping rain to attend the Lantern Festival (Chap Goh Meh) activity. Through this activity, they threw the mandarin oranges to get the future match at Bandar Tun Razak, Taman Tasik Permaisuri , Cheras.
The function “2013 Cheng Pai love Chap Goh Meh ”was organized by Chang Pai Events and Solutions. This function was held on at 6pm until midnight in Taman Tasik Permaisuri with the theme of “my life, I love you”. Although having rain on that day, it did not block the enthusiasm from hundreds of the men and women to attend this activity.
Lantern Festival also known as Chinese Valentine’s day. So toss mandarin oranges is the most important part and activity for this festival. Before the activity start, the girls wrote their basic profile and contact number on the mandarin oranges. Besides, the men were wrote on the bananas and hope to get the future match through this activity.
First, both men and women were stand two opposite difference sides which separated by the pool. In under the leadership of the host, the girls throw the mandarin oranges which already filled up the details into the lake. Then the men those regardless of the sick jumped into the pool and collect the oranges as much as possible. After that, the men pass the bananas hand to hand to the girls that they aimed.
However, some of the respondents said that they went there just want to get some fun and feel the excitement of the Lantern Festival.
“ I just accompanied my friend come over here today, but I’m just tossing the mandarin oranges casually because I am not really believe that. But I still hope to know more people through this activity, but anything should depends on the fate”, said by respondent Stephanie Yap, 24 years old.
“I just want to enjoy, relax and feel the atmosphere here, it’s amazing”, said by Kenneth Tan, a college student.
Besides of the tossing mandarin oranges activities, the organizer also prepared some activities for the participants such as Loving Lantern Boat Festival, Wishing Tree, Lucky Draw and others activities for them to add the lively atmosphere.
